Now here's my problem. My dad owns and e55 and my mom owns a 328. My mom commutes every day so driving her car is off the table. I've had my license for a little over three months now. However, I have no insurance, and therefore cannot drive (in California). Their reasoning is that I am an unsafe driver which I disagree with because I quite easily passed my driving test at the DMV and always think before I do anything when I drive. Long story short. Not my fault. The guy backed into my car. It was parked to sell it. So no insurance policy on it. My BF and I were sitting in the car out of the rain writting out a new for sale sign. The car vibrated like crazy when we drove it to move it back to my place. The guys insurance company didn't even check the alignment or add it to the estimate. The other estimates don't even include the alignment. There could be more damage. I decided to get cash to another car. I have not signed anything yet or recived the check. My car is worth about 2K. It wouldn't be worth it to fix it. Insurance Company $1013.76 Auto Body Shop $1162.00 Ford Dealership $1284.90 Les Schwab Alignment $90.00 361.14 difference. I asked to raise their quote. The Insurance company said no. If I had go to an auto body repair shop of my choice with 1013.76 they would call and ask for them to kick down more money. I am going to notify the insurance company that in writting that I am taking them to small claims court. Any ideas on the letter that I submitt? My BF and I were injured. hi everyone...im asking this question for my parents. they are 56 (dad) n 53 (mom)....both of them are permanently disabled. my mom has been on ssi and disability since i was 5 (now 23) due to a severe back injury that left her unable to work. my father was forced to retire about a year ago due to a hip replacement, crooked spine and back surgery that left him crippled for months. my father now receives his retirement and ssi as well...however due to extreme circumstances they both just lost their medical insurance from another provider. what options do they have??? how can they get coverage??? thats affordable...??? medicare doesnt kick in for my father for 24 months after he first started receiving his ssi benefits. n my mom said for her to get it its very expensive. what do they do???

What's more important , Insurance payment or Car payment?

My car is soon going into repossesion. they gave me a dead line 23rd , and i am desperately looking for a job . anyway , i have 200 dollars in my acct. I was thinking of paying the 200 dollars for my insurance. which i was lever late for paying . and then hope that i get a job and pay the 425 dollars which i am 30 days past due , payment on the 23rd.. do you think I should just not pay the insurance this month , and let them bill me for a fine , than let my car go into repossesment ? if i dn't pay for it , i will have atleast 200 in my bank and then I could hopefully ask my mom ( which i dn't wanna do ) for the rest ( another 225 , total 425 for the CAR ) till i get a paycheck .

Will being arrested for a DUI increase my car insurance rates?

I was arrested for dui almost two years ago my case has still not went to trial. I live in miami every time I get a trial date it is canceled for some unknown reason. My license was suspended but so much time has passed I now have my full regular license reinstated. I am buying a car next week.

I have always wondered about this.... say you were in a car accident with canceled insurance/ no insurance....but the next day you pay it. Then you reprt the accident, will they cover you?

My husband is on SSI and gets a weekly workers comp check? His income is non taxable . We did not qualify through the affordable marketplace for insurance for myself and son and did not qualify in Indiana for CHIPS for our child? We had been perviously purchasing our own private insurance but now I see you can't even do this anymore our current plan runs out in March of 2014 , and all thay offer now is temporary health care plans. Anyone out there finding them-self in this situation? Any advice ? Thanks?

Car Accident, how much should I expect from their insurance company?

I was just in a car accident on Thursday. Its basically totalled my car. Two weeks before the accident, I just put $2345 into the transmission, $500 2 weeks before that, and another $500 about a month before that. Thats not to mention the $1000 I put in in 2006. It was a troubled car but with the transmission fixed, it should have been perfect. The other car hit me. I really was at no fault but the other car is a company car. The people driving don't own it. They also don't seem to be American Citizens. Here's my damage, Broken Axels, my tires leaning into the car dramatically, my tire is ripped, the driver door doesn't open, blinker is gone, just severely damage to the quarter panel, ETC I did have some injury, a seat belt burn, back and neck pain. What can I expect from the insurance company? Will they take into account the recent expensive work done on the car? Any ideas? A guess? I had a 99' Hyundai Elantra - now I have scrap metal.

I was recently doing some quotes...I keep getting around $981*ish 6 month premium. I don't know, it's not that I couldn't afford that in the future it's that I'm hoping I can get it a bit cheaper...being that I drive 4 miles to school, will only drive it less then 2500 miles a year! 5 days a week. I don't qualify for hagerty, or any of those classic car Insurance Co.'s. I'm not sure, I guess if i talked to a real agent you think it'd decrease a bit? Because I have a junk car that I'll be using for winter and really cold days, my dads car :p. By the way the insurance company was PROGRESSIVE. I tried many other, they where all higher. Why was it when I tried other cars they skyrocketed past $900, like seriously, I tried a 1996 Honda it went from $900 to $1100!? I'm not sure if it's a messed up quote or what, haha. P.S. all this from it going from X amount to X amount that's all 6 month not 1 month.
